Industry Strategist, Asset Management

The Advisory team at Plative will be focused on helping our customers envision the future by conducting thorough discovery informed by a deep perspective inside their industry. As an Industry Strategist for Asset Management, you will partner with our technical teams to develop impactful solutions for our retail, institutional, and private client asset management customers. 

As an Industry Strategist, Asset Management, you should have an in-depth understanding of retail and institutional asset management developed over years of experience working directly in the field of asset management or as a management consultant for asset management institutions. In addition to providing creative and industry-informed guidance to our customers and delivery teams, you will also be contributing to and informing our growth strategy to continue our expansion in asset management sectors through go to market efforts, thought leadership, and partnerships with organizations that can mutually benefit from working with Plative.

What you’ll do

  • Establish yourself as a trusted advisor to our existing portfolio of asset management customers at many stages of their transformation journey
  • Engage with executives and key stakeholders at our customers to assist/advise on the discovery process, business solution strategy, and change management/adoption
  • Develop an industry-specific digital transformation playbook consisting of end to end business process flows/user journeys spanning front end CRM/sales/service business processes and back office ERP. 
  • Conduct visioning sessions with clients as part of pre-sales and post-sales discovery and strategic alignment workshops
  • Assist in new business development opportunities and sales pursuits by helping our sales and marketing teams in establishing and communicating a strong point of view through discovery meetings, proposals, and onboarding
  • Review existing Plative offerings, services, and IP to identify which challenges they may solve in asset management sectors
  • Support and coach delivery teams in identifying new opportunities for add-on work or ongoing managed services within our customer base
  • Partner with sales and marketing leadership to facilitate industry training for individual contributors to speak more knowledgeably to our customers in asset management
  • Collaborate with our partners at Salesforce and Oracle NetSuite to support their go to market efforts in asset management through speaking engagements and round table events

About you

  • 8+ years of experience in asset management either directly employed by an asset manager or as a management consultant specializing in asset management engagements
  • An emphasis in IT systems, internal operations, or analytics in your career
  • Exceptional presentation skills and executive presence
  • Exposure to previous digital transformation projects 
  • Commercial mindset, able to identify new market opportunities, develop a perspective, and partner with your team members to bring creative solutions to the market

Nice to have

  • Direct experience with Salesforce.com, Discovery Data, Broadridge, and SS&C products
  • Experience spearheading digital transformation projects at asset management institutions
  • Experience creating datasets and stories on Tableau, PowerBI, Qlik, or similar 
  • Formal Agile methodology and/or design thinking training
